What you'll be doing
As a member of the Third-Party Governance Office (TPGO), the Consultant, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics plays an important role in making complex data more accessible, understandable, and actionable for our business partners. As a Consultant, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, you'll support the end-to-end reporting lifecycle, from sourcing and transforming data to analyzing results and delivering meaningful insights. You'll use Databricks to prepare and analyze data, and Power BI to create clear, effective visualizations and reporting that support decision-making. Through your work, you'll help strengthen reporting capabilities, improve insight generation, and support risk-informed and operationally sound business outcomes.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
3Innovation and simplification -7 Strive for continuous improvement in data quality and help simplify reporting, governance, and operational processes through thoughtful analysis, automation, and the effective use of business intelligence tools.
3Data analysis and business requirements -7 Partner with business stakeholders to gather, assess, and document requirements. Translate complex business needs into high-quality reporting and analytics solutions that support risk insights and operational decision-making.
3Data sourcing, transformation, and reporting -7 Support reporting processes using data from centralized cloud-based storage environments. Use Databricks for data preparation, transformation, and analysis, and deliver meaningful insights through Power BI.
3Visualization and insight delivery -7 Design intuitive, user-focused dashboards and reports that communicate trends, themes, and insights clearly and effectively. Apply data storytelling and user experience principles to improve how insights are understood and used.
3Workflow automation and process support -7 Use Power Automate to support and automate workflows related to data movement, reporting activities, approvals, notifications, and process tracking to improve consistency, transparency, and efficiency.
3Continuous improvement -7 Stay current on industry best practices in business intelligence, data visualization, analytics, workflow automation, and data management. Share recommendations that strengthen the team's reporting capabilities and overall user experience.
Who you are
3You can demonstrate experience in7 Databricks, Alteryx, Power BI, SQL, Python, data modelling, and data design to support data transformation, reporting, dashboard development, and visualization. It's an asset if you have experience using Power Automate to support workflow automation and process enablement.
3You have a degree or diploma in 7Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. You also bring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, and/or risk management.
