What you'll be doing

As a Consultant, Application Development you will join CIBC’s Global Wires and Payments Technology (GWPT) department to provide technical expertise for small to medium, complex projects/initiatives as they relate to the implementation and support of application and/or infrastructure technology in a multi-platform environment. Enterprise Wires Modernization (EWM) is a multi-year program that will implement a new modernized wire payment platform, and you should be learning and keep yourself up to date with latest changes to carry out the Support activities. You are responsible for ensuring the currency of the application and infrastructure as per CIBC currency mandates. Additionally, you will be required to coordinate with various projects and program stakeholders and represent the support team’s view and provide them the guidance on solution design as needed.

How you'll succeed

  • Analysis & Support: Evaluate service requests to ensure adherence to standards and processes. Coordinate and/or execute implementation plans. Along with the above, you need to ensure the application and infrastructure is up to date as per the CIBC Currency standards.

  • Troubleshooting Skills: Identify and resolve small to medium complex production problems. Monitor and analyze supported services to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.

  • Manage & Influence - Lead project coordination efforts in on-boarding clients, synchronize internal technology teams to provide optimal end-to-end solution for both internal and external clients. Identify proactive solutions for recurring technology occurrences to benefit the business.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in: Minimum 7+ years’ experience in Linux, JAVA, J2EE, JBOSS EAP, and JBOSS JWS (including Apache and Tomcat), as well as familiarity with Log4J, Oracle, IBM MQ (preferred), GitHub, and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, particularly with SAML 2.0. Additional exposure to infrastructure components such as firewalls and DNS is highly desirable. Knowledge of SWIFT-related products, including SAG, AWP, and AMH, is considered an advantage, along with an understanding of the Citrix platform. Experience with cloud technologies and REST API/SOAP integrations and Knowledge in Payment space (SWIFT) is added advantage . Proficient in Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps methodologies, and is willing to provide 24/7 production support on a rotational basis. Have extensive experience in Incident and Change management, resolve production issues within strict SLAs, and implement permanent solutions to recurring problems. Efficiently addresses business user queries, supports infrastructure upgrades and verification, provides timely management updates, prepares recurring reports on production trends, and leads disaster recovery exercises. Also support all BAU activities, including audits, compliance, and documentation, demonstrating comprehensive operational support capabilities.
