About Your Role

CMTS is seeking a highly motivated Construction Superintendent to support a major construction program in Jacksonville, FL.

The Construction Superintendent will provide on-site leadership and coordination of construction activities, subcontractors, schedules, safety, quality, and project documentation. This position requires strong experience with civil, interior, and structural steel construction and the ability to work night shifts as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering large-scale commercial or government construction projects, with aviation and active operating airport experience strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in commercial or government construction.
  • Experience supporting large capital construction programs, preferably projects valued at $100 million or more.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, field operations, scheduling, budgeting, and document management.
  • Experience with civil, interior, and structural steel construction.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, labor, materials, inspections, and field activities.
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, contracts, addenda, and subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Experience identifying constructability issues, design deficiencies, scope changes, and potential schedule impacts.
  • Familiarity with construction/project management software such as Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality control, and operational excellence.
  • Ability and willingness to work nights.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background Check.
  • Must have a clean driving record.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on large capital programs.
  • Aviation construction experience.
  • Experience working within an active operating airport environment.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • CPR/AED certification.


What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide field leadership and establish effective working relationships with project personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the Project Manager and field leadership team in maintaining project budgets, tracking costs, processing billing, identifying scope changes, and maintaining overall financial performance.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the general contract, subcontracts, scopes of work, construction drawings, specifications, addenda, and project requirements.
  • Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bulletins for design deficiencies, impractical details, conflicts, and constructability concerns.
  • Communicate constructability and design issues to the Project Manager for coordination with the Architect and project team.
  • Assist with the development, refinement, maintenance, and updating of the project schedule.
  • Coordinate site logistics, subcontractor activities, manpower, equipment, staging areas, temporary utilities, and material deliveries.
  • Plan construction activities with the Project Manager, including quality control procedures, safety requirements, cleanliness, security, field office logistics, and sequencing.
  • Coordinate, direct, monitor, inspect, and document the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, labor, and materials.
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change tracking, quality documentation, daily reports, and project closeout.
  • Verify that required permits and licenses have been obtained and that required safety notices are properly posted.
  • Coordinate with inspection agencies and oversee corrective or remedial actions resulting from inspections.
  • Lead weekly subcontractor coordination and safety meetings.
  • Review subcontractor daily reports, including completed work, manpower, labor, and materials.
  • Order and coordinate material deliveries to the project site.
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders while representing CMTS's commitment to safety, quality, integrity, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure field activities remain aligned with project schedule, quality, safety, sustainability, and contractual requirements.

Salary

$125,000 per year

Bonus Opportunity

A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals. Bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
