Full Job Description
Title: Superintendent, Roofing and Waterproofing

Location: Greater Toronto Area

Company: Triumph Group of Companies

Role Overview

The Superintendent runs Triumph's roofing and waterproofing work in the field, either across several active sites at once or on the single largest project when that is where you are needed most. You work hand in hand with the Project Manager, you own what happens on site, and foremen and crews answer to you. Because you are skilled in both roofing and waterproofing, you are the person we send to the jobs that involve both, and the person other superintendents call when a detail or a sequence is not working. You set the safety standard, you catch quality problems before the consultant does, and you bring the foremen coming up behind you along with you. In practice, that looks like sites that run clean, schedules that hold, and general contractors who stop asking who is supervising.

What We Offer
  • Salary: $100,000 to $140,000, based on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, life)
  • Performance based annual bonus eligibility
  • Opportunities for career growth within the Triumph Group of Companies

What You Bring to the Table

Technical Skills
  • 10+ years in the field on commercial roofing and waterproofing projects, including 5+ years as a Superintendent or Foreman running crews
  • Hands on knowledge of both roofing assemblies (low slope and steep slope) and waterproofing systems (below grade, plaza deck, traffic coatings)
  • Current Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid and CPR, and JHSC Level 1 and 2 certification (Confined Space, Hoisting and Rigging, Fall Protection, or Gold Seal are an asset)
  • Able to read architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings, and confirm the work in the field matches them
  • Comfortable with digital field tools (Procore, site reporting apps, MS Office), and hold a valid Ontario driver's licence with willingness to travel across the GTA and occasionally out of town

Attributes
  • You have the presence to run a site, so crews and general contractors both take you seriously
  • Other superintendents and foremen already come to you when something on their site goes sideways
  • You catch a detail problem on the roof before it turns into a warranty call two years later
  • You hold the safety line when the schedule is tight, and you do not negotiate on it
  • You tell your Project Manager the bad news early rather than late, and you bring a plan with it

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct foremen and crews day to day, assigning work, setting the pace, and confirming crews have what they need to be productive
  • Own safety on site, running tailgate meetings, completing inspections, correcting unsafe work on the spot, and leading incident investigations
  • Partner with the Project Manager on schedule, manpower, and sequencing, and flag slippage before it costs the job
  • Inspect installed work against drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements, and reject work that does not meet them
  • Coordinate with general contractors, consultants, and other trades on site logistics, access, hoisting, and start dates
  • Confirm materials, equipment, and rentals are on site when needed, working with the Project Manager and purchasing
  • Document daily reports, photos, deficiency lists, and field measurements so the project record holds up in a claim
  • Mentor foremen and less experienced superintendents, and set the standard for how Triumph runs a site
  • Support close out by walking the project with the consultant, driving deficiencies to completion, and confirming warranty documentation is in order
  • Run multiple active roofing and waterproofing sites at the same time, or lead the single largest project when the work calls for it
