Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR)—an affiliate of Plante & Moran, PLLC (PM)—partners with corporations and institutional organizations to deliver fully integrated program management/owner’s representation and real estate services.

We’re looking for an experienced, dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead K–12 projects in Michigan. In this role, you’ll build strong relationships with a diverse client base, communicate clearly, and apply your technical expertise to help clients understand risk and make informed program decisions.

Your role.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for planning of project logistics including vendor contracting strategy, establishing internal team responsibilities and working with clients to develop the overall project structure to achieve their goals.
  • Responsible for leading multiple projects of varying scope and scale simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable in legal and financing impacts to project structure.
  • Facilitate identification and resolution of project risk factors which can include AHJ requirements, design /engineering management and general construction means and methods.
  • Have a strong acumen in managing multiple vendors to their contractual obligations; assist with prioritization of activities
  • Procure services for construction and supplemental vendors required for complete project execution.
  • Coordinate and monitor vendor activities for compliance to contractual responsibilities.
  • Coordinate client engagement within overall program, facilitiate the decision making process.
  • Monitor budget, schedule and project risk items; facilitate issue resolution
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of P&M and PMR policies and procedures on projects including internal reporting
  • Participate and lead team development including mentoring, and coaching on performance


The qualifications.

  • Engineering Degree, Architecture Degree, or Construction Management Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 10+ years of building, design, and construction experience in the following areas: project management, construction administration or construction field management
  • Experience working for an Owner’s Facility Team or as a consultant is preferred
  • Construction field experience with K-12 is ideal and knowledge of construction best practices is required.
  • Understanding of the design process that drives scope and budget development is desirable.
  • Construction cost estimating experience is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and/or Primavera Scheduling Software; Familiarity with BIM
  • Qualified individuals must either reside in or near the Grand Rapids area or be willing to relocate to these areas for this opportunity; Frequent travel throughout the region, with approximately 15% overnight travel.

This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group.
