What You Will Do
This position will be filled at either the Computing Systems Professional 1/2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.

Computing Systems Professional 1 $72,800 - $115,400

The successful candidate will support customers and their systems, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting with Windows Server patching and basic vulnerability remediation.
  • Supporting the building of virtual machines by following established procedures.
  • Helping maintain server inventory and updating lifecycle documentation.
  • Participating in routine administration tasks, basic troubleshooting, and monitoring.
  • Working directly with customers and stakeholders using professional communication.
  • Collaborating with team members to improve processes and documentation.

Computing Systems Professional 2 $87,800 - $143,000
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level the successful candidate will:
  • Performing Windows Server patching and vulnerability remediation with moderate independence.
  • Independently building virtual machines and maintaining server environments.
  • Managing server inventory and ensuring lifecycle documentation accuracy.
  • Handling more complex troubleshooting and routine system administration tasks.
  • Engaging directly with customers and stakeholders to drive issue resolution.
  • Contributing to improvements in processes, documentation, and service delivery.

  • Ability to work professionally with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Troubleshooting skills with ability to resolve common server issues.

E ducation/Experience at lower level: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Location : The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 Year.
