Computer Programmer/SharePoint Developer to support the Office of Informatics (OI) within the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The NCIPC Office of Informatics supports a growing portfolio of systems and IT services while providing Center-wide leadership in project management best practices, IT governance, system interoperability, reduction of redundancies, adoption of emerging technologies, accountability of IT resources, data security, and compliance with Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and CDC IT policies, procedures, standards, and regulations. The
Computer Programmer/SharePoint Developer will design and manage SharePoint-based solutions and data systems supporting NCIPC collaboration, governance, and data management needs.
Work Location:
- In-office/hybrid: Work will primarily be performed in a remote environment, with on-site support provided on an as-needed basis, at the CDC Chamblee Campus.
Responsibilities- Design, configure, and maintain SharePoint-based solutions, including sites, libraries, workflows, and collaboration tools, to support NCIPC data management and operational needs.
- Implement custom SharePoint applications, workflows, and automation solutions to enhance business processes and user productivity.
- Ensure all SharePoint solutions adhere to NCIPC SharePoint Governance policies, CDC technical standards, and Microsoft best practices.
- Develop and manage content management systems that facilitate efficient storage, retrieval, and sharing of program data.
- Integrate SharePoint with other enterprise systems, databases, and Power Platform tools to enable seamless data flow and interoperability.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, usability, and reliability, ensuring a high-quality user experience.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration details, and user support materials.
- Provide end-user support, troubleshooting, and training, enabling stakeholders to effectively utilize SharePoint solutions.
- Support compliance initiatives, ensuring systems align with data governance, security, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
- Participate in modernization efforts by enhancing legacy systems and implementing scalable, future-ready SharePoint solutions.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
- Completed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7)+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, including extensive expertise in SharePoint development, administration, and customization.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Power Platform integration and a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices is required.
- Required Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in SharePoint Online, workflows, and customization.
- Strong understanding of data management principles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Power Platform integration.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks.
- Professional working knowledge within SharePoint
- Professional interpersonal and computer skills, to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports
