We are seeking a Compensation Supervisor based in our Irvine, CA* office. Are you a compensation professional who enjoys combining data, strategy, and partnership to drive meaningful business decisions? We are looking for a Compensation Supervisor to join our Total Rewards team and help shape competitive, thoughtful, and scalable compensation practices across the organization.

In this role, you will serve as a senior compensation advisor and people leader, partnering closely with HR and business leaders on a wide range of compensation matters while also helping guide the day-to-day execution of the Compensation function. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing strategy and execution, developing others, and improving the tools, processes, and programs that support strong pay decisions.

General Responsibilities:

  • As a Compensation Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting compensation strategy and leading execution across core compensation programs and client support. Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the day-to-day execution of compensation work across assigned client groups and compensation programs, ensuring analyses, recommendations, and deliverables align with department standards, compensation philosophy, and business needs
  • Serving as a senior advisor to HR Business Partners and business leaders on complex compensation matters, including job evaluations, organizational design changes, pay decisions, market competitiveness, and compensation support for leadership-level roles
  • Supervising and developing Compensation Partners by managing workflow, setting priorities, reviewing work product, providing coaching, and building team capability and consistency in compensation practices
  • Supporting the Department Manager of Compensation in implementing department strategy by translating broader compensation priorities into team processes, tools, guidelines, and action plans that improve consistency, efficiency, and service delivery
  • Leading key compensation programs and annual cycles, such as merit planning, bonus administration, structure reviews, and job architecture maintenance, while coordinating across stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through market data, internal pay analysis, and business insights, and developing recommendations to support effective compensation decisions
  • Partnering with Compensation leadership on program enhancements, policy interpretation, and process improvements to strengthen governance, scalability, and alignment across the function
  • Developing and delivering tools, guidance, and training for HR and business leaders to improve understanding and application of compensation programs and practices


Work Schedule + Benefits:

  • Full-time, Salaried, Exempt
  • Pay Range is $136,600 - $170,000 annualized salary, plus bonus.
  • This represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
  • Office Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 8-10 years of broad-based compensation, HR, or related experience
  • Strong experience in market pricing, benchmarking, job evaluation, pay structures, salary administration, and survey participation
  • Demonstrated success partnering with HR and business leaders on complex compensation matters
  • Experience leading projects, guiding less experienced team members, and driving consistent execution across priorities
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) certification
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role
  • Experience supporting compensation program administration, including annual merit and incentive cycles


Work Location Details

In-N-Out Burger plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company's western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948. Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029.
