Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in public relations or media relations within the music industry.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in a fast-paced music business environment.
  • Experience managing music communications.
  • Ability to create storytelling, proactive press outreach, and building relationships with journalists and stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously, and to influence stakeholders. Team-player who can divvy up difficult projects and work well with a number of cross-functional teammates.
  • Ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.


About the job

It's our job to work with and help inform press, users, partners, opinion leaders, creators and artists about YouTube's products, content and policies. We are looking for an experienced and passionate self-starter to join the communications team at YouTube to lead Music and Artist Partnerships Communications.

In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to drive YouTube's industry narrative by leading major cultural moments while managing strategic label partnerships and music press relations. You will also sit at the intersection of tech and creativity, working on AI features that will shape the music landscape.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $171000 - $247000 (USD) 20% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Manage communications for YouTube's Music and Artist Partnerships organization. Develop comms strategies, narratives, blog posts, pitches, FAQs, social plans, etc. Manage crisis comms. Brief spokespeople and staff interviews.
  • Drive proactive storytelling that positions YouTube as the best place for every artist and music fan. Manage comms for YouTube music executives.
  • Lead cultural moments that showcase YouTube's relevance. Work closely with the YouTube music partnerships and marketing teams to devise communication strategies to deliver on business goals.
  • Manage and cultivate partnerships with a broad swath of media, including music industry, consumer and business press, but also new media, creators, podcasters and more. Maintain relationships with label partners.
  • Consult and partner across Google and YouTube to clearly articulate the AI offering for music partners.
