Responsibilities

  • Lead Electrical and Elastomer Purchasing for BU2 Plants in North America.
  • Manage a team of 6 Commodity Buyers focusing on assigned commodities.
  • Coordinate with global purchasing leads to align North American strategies with global initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers in the assigned commodity groups.
  • Drive the achievement of KPIs related to IPCO, Working Capital, and Quality targets.
  • Support OEM Customers and MAHLE plants for supply continuity.
  • Facilitate cross-functional team activities to meet objectives.

Full Job Description
Your Contribution:

As Commodity Buying Manager reporting to the Head of Purchasing, you will be responsible to lead assigned commodities/components and buyers towards development of Local Strategies and achievement of KPIs, including IPCO, Working Capital and Quality targets, as well as supply risk and change management activities for BU2 Plants and Locations.

This role is responsible to:
  • This position will lead responsible for Electrical and Elastomer Purchasing for BU2 Plants and Locations in the NA Region for a centralized commodity-based organization for both Series production and Development Projects.
  • Lead a team of Commodity Buyers (6) responsible for all components within these commodity groups.
  • Coordinate closely with global lead-buy purchasing members, internationally, to ensure North American integration and alignment into global initiatives.
  • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers within these commodity groups.
  • Lead assigned commodities/components and buyers towards development of Strategies and achievement of KPIs, including IPCO.
  • Working Capital and Quality targets, as well as supply risk and change management activities.
  • Support all OEM Customers and MAHLE plants to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Coordinate team activities across other functional areas within the company to ensure objectives are met.
  • Presentations to senior management on various topics.
  • Coordinate and lead workshops with suppliers to drive cost savings initiatives.

Your Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited 4-year College or University.
  • 10 years of purchasing management experience in the automotive industry.
  • 3 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Specific experience and knowledge related to Electrical and Elastomer components preferred.
  • Production Material and Department Budget development experience preferred.
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset and initiative/skills.
  • Good technical knowledge of SAP.
