Job Summary:

We are seeking a Commissioning Authority Lead to serve as a key position on a LEED Commissioning Services engagement at a rail yard and vehicle maintenance facility. Acting as the Commissioning Authority (CxA) on behalf of the consultant team, this individual will lead fundamental commissioning, enhanced commissioning, monitoring-based commissioning, and building enclosure commissioning process (CxP) activities, ensuring systems and components are designed, installed, and perform in accordance with the owner's project requirements (OPR) and LEED requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Certification in Commissioning preferred (e.g., CxA, CCP, or BCxA).
  • 10+ years of experience commissioning building systems.
  • REQUIRED: Direct, hands-on experience commissioning rail yard, transit vehicle maintenance, or comparable heavy-rail/transit facilities. This is a must-have, not a preference • general building commissioning experience without rail/transit exposure will not meet the qualification bar for this role.
  • Direct experience with LEED commissioning is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction processes, mechanical and electrical systems, building enclosure assemblies, and applicable building codes.
  • Experience conducting fundamental, enhanced, and monitoring-based commissioning is required; experience with building enclosure commissioning (CxP) is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting findings and reports to owners and project teams.
  • Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior commissioning staff.
  • Availability for a long-duration, on-site/hybrid assignment (~4.5 years) supporting an active transit facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Commissioning Authority (CxA) of record for the task order, developing and implementing the commissioning plan in line with the OPR and LEED requirements.
  • Lead fundamental commissioning, enhanced commissioning, monitoring-based commissioning, and building enclosure commissioning process (CxP) activities.
  • Conduct site visits at the rail yard/maintenance facility to review installation of systems and components.
  • Perform and oversee functional testing and verify system performance against design intent.
  • Document findings and prepare commissioning reports for the client and prime project leadership.
  • Collaborate with the prime consultant's project team, client stakeholders, and trade contractors to identify and resolve commissioning issues.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Commissioning Engineer (Field Representative) and other junior commissioning staff assigned to the task order.

On site position

Salary Range: $126,400 to $165,177 YR
