Overview

The Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for implementing and managing cloud and on-premises IT infrastructure, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Network Services, this role ensures secure, scalable, and resilient solutions across the firm's environments, collaborates with IT teams on projects and troubleshooting, and leads disaster recovery planning. Advanced expertise in Azure, identity management, and related technologies is essential, along with the ability to handle multiple priorities and stay current with evolving industry trends.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
  • Implement, and maintain cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Manage identity and access through Microsoft Entra ID, including conditional access policies, zero trust principles, and least-privilege access across Azure resources.
  • Administer Windows Server environments (ADFS, DFS, Active Directory, user/group management, file and directory permissions).
  • Oversee VMware and enterprise storage systems, including configuration, management, and monitoring.
  • Apply security best practices across cloud and on-premises environments, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedures, configurations, and resolutions.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution of runbooks.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities independently and collaboratively across geographically dispersed offices.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on network management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with evolving technologies, particularly those relevant to the firm's environment.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting across cloud and on-premises platforms.
  • Handle service tickets and work closely with engineers throughout IT.
  • Engage with managers, architects, and engineers, balancing independent work with team collaboration.


Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in corporate cloud and on-premises network environments, with demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Azure; AWS and GCP experience preferred.
  • Proven experience building cloud solutions on Azure, including infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
  • Strong proficiency in Linux deployments and management; experience with containers, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and orchestration is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure cloud services (Compute, Storage, Databases, Messaging, Networking, Security), and secure cloud infrastructure design.
  • Advanced administration of Microsoft Entra ID (including hybrid identity with Entra Connect), conditional access, governance, privileged identity management, and Azure DNS.
  • Experience configuring cloud-native applications with least privilege, using Entra ID roles, Azure RBAC, and managed identities.
  • Expertise in disaster recovery planning and implementation using Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, geo-redundant storage, and migration pathways (Azure Migrate, Azure VMware Solution).
  • Ability to design scalable, resilient, and highly available solutions using Azure availability zones, paired regions, and auto-scaling.
  • Awareness of emerging Azure services, Entra ID capabilities, and industry trends; relevant certifications (AZ-305, AZ-104, SC-300) preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective verbal and written communication.
  • Customer service orientation, project management experience, and ability to work in process-driven, multi-office, and diverse environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and infosec teams, and act as senior escalation for problem resolution.
  • Professional, proactive, and team-oriented, with strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

  • Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C.: $127,900 - $195,000
  • New York: $133,200 - $203,100
