Role Overview:The role is for a Cloud Java Developer focused on migrating and optimizing existing Java Spring Boot applications to integrate with Google Cloud Spanner. This involves refactoring data access layers, modifying SQL queries, and ensuring performance and scalability within a distributed system environment, collaborating with architects and Google Cloud SMEs.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze existing Java Spring Boot applications and database interaction patterns.
- Refactor data access layers to integrate with Google Cloud Spanner.
- Modify SQL queries and transaction processing logic to align with Spanner architecture.
- Optimize read/write operations and transactional workloads for performance and scalability.
- Redesign data models, indexing strategies, and primary keys to avoid hotspotting.
- Work with architects to implement Spanner best practices for distributed systems.
- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Conduct performance benchmarking and throughput validation.
- Troubleshoot application and database performance issues.
- Collaborate with Google Cloud SMEs and client stakeholders.
- Document design decisions, migration considerations, and lessons learned.
Required Skills:- Java 8 and above
- Spring Boot microservices architecture
- Spring Batch
- RestFul webservices, API development
- Strong SQL, JDBC strings, Connection strings
- Cloud Spanner (must have)
- PostgreSQL DBs (must have)
- Hands-on experience implementing solutions on Google Cloud Spanner, Spanner PostgreSQL Dialect, Distributed SQL databases
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Query optimization, Data modeling, Transaction management, Performance tuning
- GCP Application Development experience including GKE, IAM, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Cloud Build / CI-CD
