Full Job Description
Our client is seeking a seasoned cloud engineering professional who brings both deep technical expertise and strategic architectural thinking. This role is ideal for someone who can design and deliver modern, cloud-first platforms leveraging microservices, containerization (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes), and serverless solutions. This is a hybrid role based out of the King of Prussia, PA area.

The successful candidate will take ownership of foundational cloud capabilities such as network design (VPC/VNet, subnets, VPNs, load balancing), identity and access management, security controls, and observability practices including monitoring and alerting-ensuring all solutions meet high standards for scalability, resilience, security, and compliance.

This individual will partner closely with cross-functional teams, guide production deployments, resolve complex technical challenges across multiple layers, and mentor less experienced engineers. They will also play a key role in reviewing technical designs and implementations to uphold engineering excellence and advance platform maturity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, develop, and support cloud-based solutions within the Azure ecosystem
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of cloud initiatives, from requirements definition through deployment and ongoing optimization
  • Build and maintain highly reliable, scalable, and secure cloud systems using modern technologies
  • Implement and manage core cloud components, including networking, IAM, security controls, and observability frameworks
  • Serve as a senior technical leader across project teams
  • Provide coaching and technical direction to junior engineers and collaborative teams
  • Evaluate architecture, code, and infrastructure changes to ensure alignment with best practices in performance, security, and compliance
  • Lead the rollout of new platforms and enhancements to existing systems
  • Work in partnership with delivery teams to ensure seamless releases and stable production performance
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning infrastructure, networking, and application layers
  • Remain adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve


Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of 7 years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or cloud architecture roles
  • Strong proficiency in at least one leading cloud provider (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable)
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins), and container orchestration technologies
  • Solid grounding in networking principles, cloud security practices, and identity/access management
  • Demonstrated experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale, highly available systems
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments, scripting languages, REST APIs, and system integrations
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools to support observability strategies
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, self-motivated mindset and strong collaboration skills
  • Eagerness to continuously learn and adopt new technologies that enhance business outcomes and user experiences
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across teams
  • Comfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities
  • Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to guide cross-functional initiatives
