JOB SUMMARY
The Cloud Engineer III will be responsible for deploying, administering, and maintaining Dynatrace infrastructure components across on-premises, cloud, and colocation environments. This role focuses on supporting enterprise observability initiatives through infrastructure automation, platform administration, CI/CD practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS cloud services, automation platforms, Linux administration, and DevOps methodologies to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of monitoring solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Dynatrace infrastructure components, including Cluster Nodes, ActiveGates, and OneAgent deployments.
• Support enterprise observability platforms across on-premises, cloud, and colocation environments.
• Develop, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Build and support automation solutions using Ansible Automation Platform (Ansible Tower) and scripting technologies.
• Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines to streamline platform deployment and operational processes.
• Perform system administration activities, including platform configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Execute component patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities to maintain platform stability and security.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams on observability platform design and implementation strategies.
• Support automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual administration efforts.
• Monitor platform health, analyze performance metrics, and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment standards, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure observability solutions align with enterprise technology standards and business requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience deploying and supporting Dynatrace infrastructure components, including Cluster Nodes, ActiveGates, and agents.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
o Identity and Access Management (IAM)
o EC2
o Key Management Service (KMS)
o Elastic Container Service (ECS)
o Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
o Systems Manager
o Route 53
o AWS Lambda
o AWS Step Functions (State Machines)
• Experience with Ansible Automation Platform (Ansible Tower) for configuration management and automation.
• Strong Linux administration experience, including networking, services, permissions management, and system logging.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD pipeline development and management.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation using Bash and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative DevOps and engineering environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience supporting enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and container orchestration technologies.
• Experience working with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Familiarity with DevOps best practices, infrastructure automation, and configuration management.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud and multi-environment infrastructures.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and performance management solutions.
• Experience participating in platform architecture and solution design initiatives.
CERTIFICATIONS
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional (preferred).
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (preferred).
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Linux certification (preferred).
• Dynatrace Associate Certification or relevant Dynatrace certification (preferred).
• Ansible Automation Platform certification (preferred).
