OverviewDecisionPointseeks Cloud Dev/Ops Automation Engineers to design, build, andmaintainautomated cloud provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines within IL5 AWS GovCloud environments supporting a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. These engineers develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), create repeatable deployment patterns, and support platform automation to accelerate secure, consistent delivery of cloud services and application environments.
Cloud Dev/Ops Automation Engineers collaborate closely with cloud platform engineers, cybersecurity teams, developers, and system administrators to ensure that automation workflows meet security, compliance, and operational requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Cloud Dev/Ops Automation Engineer will:
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tooling.
- Automate cloud provisioning, configuration, and environment setup across IL5 AWS GovCloud.
- Build deployment automation for platform services, shared components, and cloud-native resources.
- Maintain repeatable, versioned deployment patterns for development,test, staging, and production environments.
- Integrate security scanning, compliance validation, and guardrails into CI/CD automation.
- Support automated patching workflows, configuration baselines, and cloud drift detection.
- Troubleshoot automation failures, pipeline issues, and environment configuration problems.
- Collaborate withDevSecOps, cybersecurity, and cloud platform teams to align automation with enterprise standards.
- MaintainIaCrepositories, documentation, and version control practices.
- Implement automated logging,monitoringagent deployment, andobservabilityplatform integrations.
- Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) reviews for automated deployment and configuration changes.
Qualifications
Clearance Requirement
Must hold anactive Top Secret clearance, supported by aTier 5background investigation.
Education (Required)
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, DevOps Engineering, ora relatedfield.
Experience (Required)
- Minimum5 yearsof experience in DevOps engineering, cloud automation, or cloud systems engineering.
- Experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code modules and automated provisioning.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines or cloud deployment automation.
- Experienceoperatingin IL5, DoD, or secure federal cloud environments.
Technical Knowledge (Required)
- Proficiencywith Terraform, CloudFormation, or otherIaCframeworks.
- Experience automating cloud provisioning, configuration, and deployment workflows.
- Strong understanding of AWS GovCloud services and cloud architecture fundamentals.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems, pipeline automation, and version control.
- Understanding of RMF, STIGs, Zero Trust, and IL5 security alignment.
Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
- Experience with container automation (EKS, ECS) or serverless deployments.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Experience with security testing automation (SAST/DAST integration).
