About Your Role

As a Cloud DBA Manager at Fiserv, you will lead the strategy, administration, security, performance, and availability of our cloud-based database platforms. You will oversee a team of database professionals responsible for delivering highly resilient, scalable, and secure database services that support critical business applications across Azure environments. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning to drive modernization, automation, and operational excellence across our database ecosystem.

What you'll do:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Database Administrators and Engineers, establishing performance goals, career development plans, and training initiatives.
  • Manage enterprise cloud database platforms, including Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Develop and execute cloud database strategies that align with business objectives, technology roadmaps, and modernization initiatives.
  • Lead cloud migration and database modernization projects, transitioning workloads from on-premises environments to cloud-based platforms.
  • Design secure, scalable, and resilient database architectures while implementing best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity teams to enforce database security controls, compliance requirements, auditing standards, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC), database automation, and CI/CD practices using tools such as Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application development, enterprise architecture, and business stakeholders while providing executive reporting on database health, capacity, risks, and strategic initiatives.


Experience you'll need to have:
  • 8+ years of experience administering enterprise database environments, including Microsoft SQL Server and cloud database platforms
  • 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical database administration teams
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance environments
  • Experience leading cloud migration, database modernization, and infrastructure transformation initiatives
  • Strong expertise in database performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of database security, compliance frameworks, and regulatory requirements including SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, or similar standards
  • Fiserv Application Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience


Experience that would be great to have:
  • Microsoft Azure certifications related to cloud administration, architecture, or database technologies
  • Experience implementing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and cloud service provider engagements
  • Exposure to data governance, data engineering, or enterprise data management initiatives


How you'll work:
  • This role requires flexibility to work overtime that includes weekends and holidays
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment


Travel:
  • Approximately 10% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected


Sponsorship:
  • In order to be considered, you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for visa sponsorship now or in the future


Salary Range
$109,000.00 - $182,400.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.

For incentive eligible associates, the successful candidate is eligible for an annual incentive opportunity which may be delivered as a mix of cash bonus and equity awards in the Company's sole discretion.
