Clinical Nurse - PACU (Day Shift)

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Clinical Nurse at our M2 PACU unit. We're looking for a dynamic nursing professional eager to showcase compassionate, evidence-based nursing care skills and make a significant impact in our PACU department.

Role Overview:
  • Work reciprocally with other members of the perioperative team
  • Implement the nursing process for surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring and nursing interventions in an acute and critical 24-hour setting
  • Safely recover post-operative patients of varying ages emerging from anesthesia
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary collaboration to provide high-quality, evidence-based, and safe patient care
  • Assure completion of required diagnostic and evaluative tests, providing related patient education and post-operative clinical assessments
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care, including medication usage and wound care prior to discharge


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct frequent assessments and titration of vasoactive, cardiac, and sedation infusions; monitor ventilated patients and initiate weaning protocols
  • Provide care and maintenance of invasive hemodynamic lines, including central venous and arterial catheters
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition with strong clinical judgment in a high-acuity environment


Key Qualifications:
  • NYS RN license, BSN
  • BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Minimum of 1.5+ years of related clinical experience in acute care
  • Critical care experience and related certification highly preferred

Additional Information:
  • Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065
  • Schedule: 12-hours shift flexed from 8am to mid-night Monday through Saturday with weekend rotation required. This position requires a 13-shift schedule per month.
  • Reports to: Nurse Leader


Pay Range: $113,100.00 - $180,900.00
