Full Job Description
Mayfield Clinic is looking for a strong clinical leader to serve as our Clinical Manager of Spine Services• an essential role focused on advancing spine care, leading high-performing teams, and driving data-informed operational and quality initiatives across the organization.

Education/Experience:
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with a current license to practice nursing in the state of Ohio and Kentucky, or a graduate of an AAPA-accredited school.
  • An active certificate to prescribe is required.
  • 5-7 minimum years of experience in a health care setting required.
  • Previous experience within surgical spine services is required.
  • Prior experience serving as a first assistant in surgery is preferred.
  • Business development experience preferred.
  • Experience leading others preferred.
  • Quality improvement and data analysis experience preferred.

Skills:

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the VP, Operations, bi-directionally ensure organizational expectations are cascaded to physicians, APPs, associates, and other clinical and administrative areas, while representing the needs of those same groups.
  • Work closely with Spine COE Physician Chair to advance spine strategies and directives, as identified.
  • Responsible for the business development and spine services operational management across the organization.
  • Responsible for clinical management of strategic spine programs as identified, including but not limited to an Osteoporosis Clinic.


Essential Functions:
  • Help develop and maintain a corporate culture that supports the mission and values of Mayfield Clinic.
  • Serve as a key member of the management team. Participate in strategic planning and implementation of short- and long-term organizational initiatives that support financial, budget, and business goals. Provide leadership and management expertise for the Spine COE to achieve service line goals.
  • Partner with the Spine COE Chair to develop COE agendas and presentations to lead effective COE meetings. Also partner with the Chair to recommend staffing, process review, and business opportunities.
  • Hold clinics as needed to facilitate greater access to new spine patients or in an APP coverage capacity, at any designated clinic site, as requested.
  • Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in the delivery of care and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Lead spine standardization efforts across all facilities. Analyze departmental data, processes, and procedures regularly and make recommendations for changes as needed to ensure effective and efficient operations, and develop reporting mechanisms for such.
  • Lead data-driven clinical quality improvement initiatives that drive performance, outcomes, and growth across the spine service line.
  • Manage and mentor associates within the appropriate organizational reporting structure.
  • Assist the VP of Operations in the development of the annual financial plan, manage the operating expense budget for the division, and maintain expenditures within the approved budget.
  • Conduct meetings and training as needed.
  • Establish work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness, geared towards ensuring superior patient care.
  • Foster effective and collaborative working relationships with local hospital systems and partners.
  • Maintain effective interdepartmental relationships.
  • Maintain and upgrade clinical skills and professional expertise through participation in professional organizations, workshop attendance, CEU activities, formal education, and current literature review.
  • Participate in research projects for clinical studies as requested.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.
