How you'll make an impact in this roleDevelop, implement, and oversee the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) audit plan. Utilize audit findings to develop, implement, and maintain training to providers and staff.
- Perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of medical records utilizing evidence-based knowledge, protocols, and documentation criteria.
- Develop training and education material. Implement and facilitate training with providers and staff to improve the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
- Assist Health Information Management leadership in developing goals, metrics and targets representing CDI's work performance and provider documentation performance. Assist leadership in the development of the CDI plan as it relates to quality metrics and provider education.
- Responsible for education and mentoring of CDI staff and report on progress.
- Establishe relationships with providers and team members in order to communicate the benefits of complete and accurate documentation.
What minimum requirements you'll needLicensure / Certification / Registration:
Required Credential(s):
- Clinical Documentation Prof. credentialed from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'
degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
