Description:In this inpatient role, he/she evaluates and counsels our adult and pediatric inpatient population. Responsibilities include: Nutritional assessment, care plan development, reassessment and education. Document in the medical chart all dietary information regarding the patient. Provide care consistent with the NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital's policies and HIPAA regulations.
This is a full-time day shift position 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday including 1 weekend per month, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.Preferred Criteria:- 1 year of acute care experience with knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.
Required Criteria:- Must have bachelor's degree, with completion of an ADA approved internship.
- Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Certification by the State of New York as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist NYS - certification within 12 months, if the applicant is not registered upon hire.
- Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) within 6 months; if the applicant is not registered upon hire, an ACEND verification statement indicating completion of an accredited/approved supervised practice program in dietetics is required.
- Knowledge of clinical nutrition with emphasis on nutritional needs of the patients.
- Excellent counseling skills and the ability to relate to a multiethnic community and varied learning levels
- Good critical thinking skills to be able to make fast and accurate assessment of patients.
Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
Salary Range:$41.41-$47.41/Hourly
