As a Client Relationship Manager (CRM) within Canadian Commercial Banking at Scotiabank, you will play a key role in supporting the success of Canadian businesses in the growth segment with annual sales between $5MM and $25MM. You will drive both new business acquisition and portfolio growth, leveraging strong relationship management, financial insight, and collaboration with internal partners to deliver the full capabilities of the Bank.

In this role, you are a trusted advisor to your clients, helping them navigate opportunities and solve business challenges, while building a high-performing portfolio and a strong presence in your market.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Build trusted relationships with Canadian businesses, acting as a key advisor on their growth and financial needs.
  • Drive new business and expand your portfolio through proactive prospecting, networking, and pipeline management.
  • Deliver tailored banking solutions by connecting clients to the full capabilities of Scotiabank.
  • Lead insightful client conversations leveraging financial analysis and market knowledge to uncover opportunities.
  • Partner across the Bank to bring integrated solutions to our clients.
  • Manage and grow a commercial portfolio, balancing relationship development with sound credit and risk practices.
  • Identify emerging clients, portfolio, or operational risks and escalate concerns appropriately to support sound decision-making and strong portfolio health.
  • Bring together the right partners across the Bank to develop coordinated client solutions.
  • Lead and shape deal structuring and credit execution in partnership with credit teams for authorizations between $1MM to $5MM.
  • Contribute to deal structuring and execution in collaboration with credit partners.
  • Build your presence in the local market through community engagement and industry networking.


What You will Bring to the Team:

Must-have
  • Education: Undergraduate, degree in Business or Economics or work equivalency.
  • Experience: 3+ years within Commercial Banking and business development in the banking/financial industry.
  • Proven ability to drive business development, including prospecting, pipeline management, negotiation, and closing opportunities.
  • An initiative-taking, self-starter approach with strong organization, prioritization, and networking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead client conversations in a clear and compelling way.
  • Sound credit and risk judgement, with the ability to balance growth and responsible decision-making.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned market, with access to a vehicle.

  • Establishing a network within the local business and professional community.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending and deposit products, with the ability to deliver integrated financial solutions.
  • Experience working with small to mid-sized commercial clients in a relationship management or business development capacity.
