What You'll Do

Business Development

  • Own and achieve a defined annualized sales target, heavily incentivized through commissions on top of a base salary.
  • Be the focal point in the defined geography for intelligent automation solutions, where you are the designated expert.
  • Identify and close new logo and expansion services business across enterprise accounts $2B or greater in revenue.
  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of a consulting sales process, including all pre-sales motions for advisory work.
  • Maintain an ongoing market presence to establish Ashling as a top-of-mind strategy, business, and technology consulting partner for automation and AI-driven solutions.

Client Service and Delivery Leadership

  • Drive account growth and client retention by developing annual account plans and executing strategies to deliver new sales.
  • Partner with clients to ensure delivery quality is tracking according to plan and aligned to business goals.
  • Leverage your knowledge of automation and AI technologies to help influence client strategy and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
  • Lead from the front through billable roles on active engagements such as client service lead, delivery lead, SME, or engagement lead.
  • Provide oversight and governance across all engagements, ensuring financial health and operational excellence (e.g., utilization, revenue, gross profit, pipeline).
  • Provide direct people management, leadership, and mentorship to a localized team of consultants and delivery professionals, ensuring their career growth and alignment with project goals.

Portfolio Leadership

  • Assist in developing the automation strategy and business plan for the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other practices to design and launch innovative automation and AI solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and maturation of Ashling's offerings, helping to shape direction and market positioning.
  • Provide thought leadership to clients by developing and sharing perspectives on automation trends and best practices.
What You'll Bring

Background / Knowledge

  • Deep, specialized knowledge of the Automation space and Hyperscaler ecosystems (including platforms like UiPath, Celonis, or Google Cloud), with a strong understanding of RPA, Agentic AI, intelligent document processing, workflow automation, and low-code development.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Specific industry vertical domain expertise is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lead discussions with senior executives to define automation strategies and identify opportunities for transformation.
  • Experience partnering with clients to deliver scalable automation and AI solutions across business functions.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in automation, technology consulting, or digital transformation.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Comfortable working with and selling to senior executives.
  • Strong executive presence with proven ability to influence at the leadership level.
  • Proven people management experience with a track record of leading, developing, and managing high-performing consulting or technical teams.
  • Experience with estimating, implementation planning, functional application expertise, and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills - oral and written - and the interpersonal skills needed to quickly establish relationships of trust and collaboration.
  • Ability to train and participate in the professional development of Ashling team members in both project-management and technical dimensions.

Compensation

Base Salary of $200,000- $250,000/annum + Variable Commission of $170,000 - $200,000k

The pay range for this role is:

200,000 - 250,000 USD per year (Chicago)
