The Opportunity

Alpha Inc. is looking for a Civil Project Engineer who can bring precision to the plan, urgency to the field, and ownership to every detail.

This is not a "hide behind spreadsheets and wait for direction" role. This is a boots-on-the-ground, plans-in-hand, problems-get-solved kind of position.

You'll support the technical heartbeat of civil construction projects - helping turn drawings, schedules, budgets, contracts, and field realities into work that gets done safely, accurately, and on time. You'll partner with Project Managers, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams to keep projects moving when the pressure is real and the margin for error is thin.

If you are sharp with details, calm in the chaos, hungry to learn, and wired to build things that actually matter to Hawai?i, this may be your next move.

As a Civil Project Engineer, you'll be expected to carry those values into the details: the reports, the meetings, the field coordination, the client updates, and the decisions that keep projects moving.
What You Will Do

As Civil Project Engineer, you'll help drive the technical and operational execution of civil construction projects from planning through completion.
Support Project Execution Like an Owner
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing project activities in partnership with Project Managers.
  • Track milestones, deadlines, deliverables, and project progress to help ensure work stays on schedule and aligned with project requirements.
  • Support Project Managers as needed across project coordination, documentation, issue resolution, and field execution.
Turn Plans Into Action
  • Review drawings, blueprints, specifications, geotechnical reports, and project documents to support accurate planning and execution.
  • Use design software, drawing tools, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and related systems to help communicate designs, details, revisions, and project information clearly.
  • Identify gaps, conflicts, or constructability issues early - before they become expensive problems in the field.
Keep Budgets, Schedules, and Scope Tight
  • Assist in preparing estimates, budgets, schedules, and project plans.
  • Review project scope and help adjust plans as needed to stay within financial, contractual, and timeline expectations.
  • Support the preparation and tracking of purchase orders, change orders, contracts, and other project controls.
Own the Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain progress reports, material delivery logs, budget updates, meeting notes, and project records.
  • Ensure project information is accurate, current, and accessible to the people who need it.
  • Track project performance and help verify that work is completed according to specifications, schedules, and client expectations.
Solve Problems Before They Grow Teeth
  • Investigate project-related issues, conflicts, delays, or coordination challenges.
  • Work with Project Managers, foremen, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve work procedures and construction problems quickly and professionally.
  • Bring solutions - not excuses - when the project hits friction.
What You Bring
  • You are organized without being rigid, technical without being arrogant, and ambitious without needing your hand held.
  • You know that great projects are built through preparation, communication, and accountability - and you want to be part of a team that takes pride in doing the hard things well.
Required Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in civil engineering, construction, project engineering, or project management.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction processes, procedures, documentation, and field coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • OSHA certifications or other relevant industry certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, project management systems, and project management/accounting software preferred.
Skills & Mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep multiple moving pieces organized.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong follow-through and the discipline to keep documentation clean, current, and accurate.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities without losing sight of schedule, cost, quality, or safety.
  • Comfort working with Project Managers, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset - you look for better ways to build, communicate, track, and deliver.
Benefits & Perks

Alpha Inc. offers a competitive benefits package designed to support you and your family, including:
  • 100% company-paid Medical/Dental/Vision (family coverage)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) (vacation, personal, and sick time) that increases with tenure
