Estimator - Major Projects
As an
Estimator - Major Projects, you will play a critical leadership role in delivering competitive, high-quality proposals on technically complex projects. You'll lead estimating efforts, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and help shape winning strategies on some of the most challenging projects in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage estimating efforts for major, complex projects
- Analyze RFPs, RFQs, and SOQs to evaluate project requirements, risks, and opportunities
- Develop and execute proposal strategies to deliver compliant, competitive bids
- Collaborate with business development to support pursuit planning and positioning
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Evaluate alternative technical solutions, value engineering options, and project schedules
- Lead proposal presentations, bid reviews, and client-facing discussions
- Conduct risk analysis and present project execution plans and estimate strategies
- Act as Norlands's estimating lead on joint venture and alliance pursuits
- Support contract negotiations with detailed cost analysis
- Oversee the handover of estimates to project teams to ensure successful execution
- Prepare and maintain cost forecasts and expenditure reports
What You Bring
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 7+ years of estimating experience on large, complex heavy civil projects
- Strong expertise in costing, contract structures, and risk analysis
- Experience with unit price, design-build, and/or P3/PPP projects is an asset
- Hands-on knowledge of utility civil work, earthworks, and roadworks on high-profile infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to lead pursuits and influence outcomes in a collaborative environment
- Innovative, solutions-focused mindset with strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in tools such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, InEight, HCSS, and B2W

Compensation: The role is a permanent, full-time position with a typical salary range of $125,000-$150,000 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and experience.
