Full Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the crew on site, directing daily work and staying actively engaged alongside your team.
  • Motivate and guide crew members to deliver work efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
  • Take ownership of safety, quality, and environmental protection for all assigned activities.
  • Read, interpret, and execute work based on project drawings, specifications, and plans.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, including crew and equipment hours, material deliveries, production quantities, and site activity summaries.
  • Coordinate closely with the Project Superintendent to plan work, align priorities, and ensure the right resources are in place.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction.
  • Strong, confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with crews and supervisors.
  • A solid work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
  • Working knowledge of WorkSafe regulations and recognized industry best practices.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions. • Extended hours as required to meet project schedules.
  • Travel within the region, with the ability to work away from home when project needs require it.


Compensation:

This is a Unionized position with Copcan Civil . This position will earn Union wages and will have access to extended Union healthcare and benefits, a Union- sponsored pension plan, and additional training through the Training Plan. Expected hourly rate: Unionized wage range for this position is $ 42.19-46.56 per hour (based on candidate's experience), plus 12% vacation/statutory holiday pay.
