Leidos has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to support highly specialized mission requirements in Reston, Virginia. In this role, you will assess, reverse engineer, and characterize the physical, architectural, and functional attributes of complex above-ground and subterranean facilities located in denied-access environments.
The successful candidate will leverage deep engineering expertise to reconstruct facility layouts, operational workflows, and supporting infrastructure associated with chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) industrial processes. You will evaluate facility vulnerabilities, identify potential threat vectors, and provide critical insights that support national security objectives.
This position requires a creative yet disciplined problem solver who can develop sound engineering assessments when complete information is not available. Success in this role demands exceptional attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to analytical rigor. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of government and contractor professionals in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment within a government facility.
Primary ResponsibilitiesReverse Engineering & CharacterizationAnalyze and characterize complex industrial processes, equipment layouts, and facility designs to determine functional attributes, operational capacity, and mission relevance.
Subterranean & Hardened Facility AnalysisEvaluate the structural design, geological overburden, and survivability of underground facilities (UGFs) and deeply buried hardened structures.
3D Modeling & SimulationUtilize advanced CAD and engineering simulation tools to develop accurate 3D models of facilities, underground structures, floor plans, utility networks, and supporting infrastructure.
Vulnerability & Resilience AssessmentsConduct detailed structural and functional analyses to identify systemic weaknesses, single points of failure, and the operational resilience of critical infrastructure against a variety of threat vectors.
Workflow & Infrastructure AnalysisAssess facility support systems and operational workflows, including specialized HVAC systems, power distribution networks, and structural integrity considerations.
Technical Reporting & BriefingProduce comprehensive engineering assessments and technical products in accordance with Intelligence Community standards. Present findings and recommendations to senior government and Department of Defense stakeholders.
