Job Title: Chief Technology Officer

Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group - Digital Solutions

Location: Austin, TX (Remote Eligible)

Reports to: VP Digital

Department: Information Technology

POSITION SUMMARY:

Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead our digital strategy and drive growth across our portfolio of software, AI, data, and connected solutions.

This executive will play a critical role in building and scaling ESG's digital business-creating customer value, expanding recurring revenue streams, and strengthening ESG's position as a technology leader in the environmental services industry.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
  • Lead the development and execution of ESG's overall digital product and technology strategy, aligning initiatives with business goals and growth objectives
  • Drive expansion of SaaS, AI, data, and connected asset solutions, increasing recurring revenue (ARR), product adoption, and customer value
  • Identify and develop new digital business opportunities, including commercialization strategies and revenue streams
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, and business units to ensure alignment and successful execution
  • Provide executive oversight of ESG's digital portfolio, including 3rd Eye® solutions, Soft-Pak® platforms, Connected Collections®, telematics, video intelligence, AI, and data platforms
  • Establish scalable platform strategies and promote reusable, efficient technology capabilities across the organization
  • Lead innovation efforts to enhance product differentiation and expand market presence
  • Manage and guide global teams across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, AI, and data disciplines
  • Implement and promote modern development practices, including cloud-native architecture, API-first design, and DevOps methodologies
  • Ensure all platforms are secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective
  • Establish and maintain architecture standards, governance frameworks, and engineering best practices
  • Define and execute ESG's strategy for AI, machine learning, computer vision, and generative AI technologies
  • Oversee development of AI-powered solutions supporting fleet operations, safety, and operational efficiency
  • Build and scale enterprise-wide data and advanced analytics capabilities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, investments, and M&A initiatives
  • Manage technology budgets and prioritize investments to maximize return and business impact
  • Present technology roadmap, strategy, and performance outcomes to executive stakeholders
  • Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing, globally distributed teams while fostering strong engagement and performance


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles
  • 10+ years of experience leading software engineering, SaaS, or digital product organizations
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling recurring revenue digital businesses
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, AI/ML technologies, and modern software architecture principles
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, globally distributed technology teams
  • Excellent communication skills with strong executive presence and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Preferred experience in IoT, telematics, fleet management, or industrial technology environments
  • Track record of driving growth in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and digital product performance
  • Proven ability to increase product adoption, customer engagement, and retention
  • Experience delivering scalable, high-performing platforms and successfully launching AI-enabled solutions
  • Strong engineering leadership with a focus on execution excellence and team engagement
  • Experience managing annual technology budgets exceeding $10 million.
  • Proven track record leading digital product businesses from concept through commercialization and growth.
  • 30-35% travel required.
