GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONResponsible for the overall direction and supervision of all accounting, payroll, IT and purchasing functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepares budgets for routine operations and grant applications.
- Monitors expense and revenue accounts for coding and adherence to budgets.
- Prepares monthly and periodic financial statements for the Executive Director, and others as needed.
- Ensures that all accounts receivable items are monitored for timely billing and collection.
- Monitors General Ledger accounts for prepaid items, notes payable, and fixed assets.
- Supervises the adherence to internal controls and compliance regulations of the accounting department, including coordinating computer activities to assure accounting procedures are consistently maintained and updated in all facets of data base system for fund accounting.
- Participates in all program planning for the creation, expansion or adjustment of services to ensure financial aspects are properly addressed.
- Prepares corrective action plans for audit recommendations/suggestions.
- Participates in efforts to maintain CARF Accreditation.
- Ensures adherence to relevant DHS policies.
- Attends meetings.
- Reviews and approves purchase requests exceeding established amounts.
- Serve as Plan Administrator of Pathfinder 401k plan and LRAFB Custodial contract 401k plan.
- Works with Human Resources Manager in monitoring benefits i.e. group life, disability, dental, health insurance, and other related benefits.
- Assist in the analysis of the fiscal effectiveness and efficiency of current and new program initiatives.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEUndergraduate Degree (Required): A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a closely related field.
Advanced Degree (Highly Preferred): An MBA (Master of Business Administration) or a Master's in Accounting/Nonprofit Management.
Professional Certification (Highly Recommended): A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid Driver's License, current auto liability insurance and registration and be physically able to drive to various locations in Arkansas.
