GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Network Director is a highly experienced and skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who serves as a clinical leader and direct patient care provider. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Director will expertly deliver comprehensive anesthesia services within the scope of practice, collaboratively support the Chair and Vice President in all operational components for Anesthesia and lead efforts in recruiting, retention and education of the Network's CRNAs, techs and aides. As a key member of the anesthesia leadership team, the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Director will not only ensure the highest standards of patient safety and quality outcomes through exemplary clinical practice but also leverage their extensive experience to guide and mentor other Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Anesthesia operational leadership, Talent Acquisition, local CRNA schools and Network CRNAs to optimize CRNA recruiting and retention efforts across the Department. (30%)
- Performs all aspects of the Nurse Anesthetist job description, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care of patients within the scope of practice. (20%)
- Directly support hospital Chief CRNAs through management, mentorship, and support. (20%)
- Initiates, develops, and oversees CRNA education and training programs. Develops and directs staff development initiatives and the orientation process for new hires. (10%)
- Builds and maintains relationships with the School of Nursing, Nurse Anesthesia Program and other local regional educational programs to attract and retain student nurse anesthetists ensuring a valuable clinical experience. (10%)
- Evaluates clinical staff performance and recommends corrective action. Provides assistance to site Chief CRNA's for conflict resolution. (10%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- Master's degree
- Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
- Current licensure as an RN in the Commonwealth of PA
- 5 years prior experience as a Chief CRNA.
Preferred
- DNP
- 10 to 15 years prior experience as a Chief CRNA
