Full Job Description

What you'll be doing

The Centralized Fast Path Desk supports CIBC’s Procurement organization by negotiating third-party service provider contracts that help mitigate risk and drive commercial value. As a Centralized Procurement Lead, you’ll use CIBC’s Supplier Risk Management framework to draft contracts, negotiate commercial and legal terms, and support efficient, value-focused third-party arrangements. You’ll manage a high volume of concurrent deals with competing priorities while providing clear updates to business partners on status and next steps. Working as part of the Centralized Fast Path Desk, you’ll help increase enterprise spend under management, deliver a strong partner experience through timely turnaround, and strengthen supplier governance across a diverse portfolio. You’ll also identify sourcing opportunities to transition to the Strategic Sourcing team and contribute ideas that support process improvements, automation, and future artificial intelligence-enabled procurement capabilities. This is an opportunity to help build a growing enterprise capability while gaining broad exposure across lines of business, supplier categories, and procurement priorities.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Contract negotiation - Lead negotiations on third-party agreements to help secure the right commercial and legal protections for CIBC while balancing efficiency, risk, and business value.
  • Contract drafting - Use CIBC’s Supplier Risk Management framework to draft appropriate contracts and support consistent, compliant third-party arrangements.
  • Portfolio management - Manage a high volume of deals with competing priorities, communicate workload and progress clearly, and help ensure timely execution across the contracting lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder partnership - Work closely with business partners, suppliers, internal risk stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to move agreements forward and support successful outcomes.
  • Commercial insight - Provide thoughtful recommendations on contract negotiations based on CIBC’s risk framework, internal requirements, and relevant industry practices.
  • Continuous improvement - Identify opportunities to enhance procurement processes, strengthen supplier governance, and support the evolution of fast path procurement capabilities.

Who you are

  • You have relevant contract management experience. You bring at least 3 years of experience in third-party contract management and procurement, ideally within a regulated environment.
  • You’re a strong negotiator. You can navigate commercial and legal discussions with confidence and focus on achieving balanced outcomes that protect the organization and support business goals.
  • You’re highly organized and detail-oriented. You manage multiple priorities effectively, notice the details that matter, and use sound judgment to support quality decision-making.
  • You’re an effective relationship builder. You communicate clearly, build trust with partners across the organization, and influence stakeholders at different levels through thoughtful recommendations and collaboration.
  • You bring business and strategic thinking. You can assess competing needs, work through ambiguity, and apply commercial judgment to help deliver practical, value-driven solutions.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
