Job Summary/Description:
The Centralcast Master Control Manager reports to the Director of Centralcast and is responsible for the performance, efficiency, and culture of a shift-based team in a large-scale, 24/7/365 broadcast Master Control environment. The ideal candidate is an experienced broadcast television operations professional with experience leading a Master Control team, strong people management skills, and a hands-on leadership style. This is a role for someone who communicates with clarity and develops the people around them.
Centralcast Manager is a hands-on leadership position providing operational support for staff as well as technical support of all broadcast equipment within the Atlanta Centralcast Hub facility. The Centralcast Manager will oversee daily scheduling of the team, daily discrepancy reporting, daily station log documentation, and fill in on Centralcast Operator duties as needed. Must be comfortable with all aspects of a master control environment, including operations and ingest. Must be an excellent leader and communicator with staff and other leaders. Will also work closely with Centralcast Directors to establish and document operational procedures for the Centralcast Hub. Will escalate on-air problems to management and engineers at the local stations. Other duties as assigned by management. Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings, overnights, and weekends as required. Primary schedule will be nights and weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Operation of broadcast equipment in a Centralcast environment
• Successful management, scheduling, and leadership of the technical facility and staff
• Effective communication of issues and problems to management at both local and remote facilities
• Accurate documentation of on-air operations in the form of logging, reporting, and scheduling
• Additional Duties - Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, adapting to the evolving operational needs of the Centralcast Hub.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: A college degree or technical diploma preferred. Experience will be considered in place of a degree.Experience: At least 10 years of experience in broadcast television station operation is required.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Prior manager/leadership experience in Broadcast Operations is preferred.
• A high-level knowledge of broadcast automation, video servers, audio and video routers, satellite dishes, receivers, and other electronic equipment associated with broadcast television stations is required.
• Must be motivated to learn new broadcast technologies and deepen knowledge of existing systems
