Title: Policy Administrator

Supports the development, review, and modernization of DCSD's policy manual. Guides the research, drafting, and tracking of School Board policies and accompanying administrative regulations to ensure adopted policies are legally
sound, strategically aligned, clearly written, and supported by actionable implementation plans. Assists with policy audits and supports the continuous improvement of policy frameworks.

Essential Job Duties:
• Drafts, reviews, and updates organizational policies and regulations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensures policies are legally compliant and align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Distributes and communicates new or updated policies to employees and provides necessary training or resources.
• Maintains comprehensive and organized records of all policies, amendments, and relevant documentation.
• Monitors adherence to policies across the organization and conducts regular audits to ensure compliance.
• Reports compliance issues and works with relevant departments to develop corrective actions.
• Collaborates with department heads, legal teams, and external advisors to ensure policies are well-informed and applicable.
• Provides guidance to employees and management on policy-related queries and issues.
• Identifies areas for improvement in current policies and procedures and recommends modifications.
• Stays current with changes in federal, state and education industry standards that may affect district policies.
• Collaborates with Board Office to ensure policy changes are updated in the district's policy platform.
• Prepares and reviews Agenda Items for policies being presented to the Board of Education for consideration.
• Tracks stakeholder feedback received through the district's policy platform.
• Develops and conducts training programs or workshops to educate employees on new or existing policies.
• Ensures clear and consistent communication regarding policy updates and the importance of adherence.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Master's degree in public policy, education policy, public administration, business administration, industrial-organizational psychology, or other closely related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 7+ years of dedicated public sector policy development experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in policy writing, development, and evaluation, including at least two years in a senior or lead policy role.
• Prior work in a K-12 school district, national or state education agency, or local government.
• Prior work in a large (10,000+ employee), complex, multi-site organization preferred.
