Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a CBRN Analyst. This position is a full-time opportunity located in Washington, D.C. (Pentagon, client site).
Battelle has been providing research, development, test, and evaluation services in support of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) defense for over 60 years. As part of our mission support, Battelle is working with the U.S. Army G8 - Capability Development (CD) Directorate to advance the resourcing, equipping, and modernization of CBRN defense capabilities. Our support facilitates the advancement of CBRND systems for next-generation CBRN sensing, threat warning, reporting, hazard prediction, protection, and mitigation.
In this role, the selected individual will coordinate across integrated Layered Protection portfolios to align requirements, resources, acquisition activities, and senior leader engagement across the Services. They will also synchronize CBRN modernization efforts with broader Joint and Service initiatives, ensuring defense systems remain effective against evolving global threats.
Responsibilities As a CBRN Analyst, the selected individual will serve as a key synchronization resource within the Chemical and Biological Defense Program, supporting the U.S. Army's Executive Agent responsibilities across military and interagency stakeholders. Responsibilities may include:
- Serving as a Synchronization Officer (SSO) within the Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBDP) Branch, Formation-Based Layered Protection (FBLP) Warfighting Division, Capability Directorate, HQDA G-8, synchronizing activities across the Military Services, Joint Staff, and interagency stakeholders
- Developing and communicating the Executive Agent narrative on portfolio status, resourcing, and emerging issues to support senior leader awareness and enterprise synchronization
- Coordinating, assessing, and analyzing CBRN defense doctrinal, operational, tactical, and training requirements using DOTmLPF-P (Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy) analysis
- Developing White Papers addressing CBRND requirements, initiatives, and challenges
- Conducting reviews and assessments of business management and governance policy, guidance, and agreements to identify gaps, efficiencies, and improvements, and initiating revisions or development of policy in accordance with DoW and HQDA guidance
- Facilitating coordination among the Services, Joint partners, and program offices to support emerging requirements, contingency operations, and senior leader decision-making
- Monitoring and responding to classified and unclassified tasks from HQDA and DoW, ensuring CBRN-related queries are answered with technical accuracy
Key Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent prior military experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in CBRN defense
- CBRND technical literacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel
- Active Secret clearance required; must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a STEM field
- Five to ten years of experience in Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) or CBRN defense
- DAWIA certification in Program Management (or willingness to obtain)
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
Compensation Data Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
