About the job

A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The mission of the organization is to deliver planning intelligence and decision support, establishing common planning assumptions, telemetry, execution policies/principles, reporting and explainability that enable planning and higher-confidence executive decision-making; integrated planning and execution, translating evolving product and business demand into integrated infrastructure plans spanning short-, medium- and long-term planning horizons; scenario evaluation and tradeoff analysis, enabling rapid evaluation of alternatives, supply constraints, and investment tradeoffs to support infrastructure allocation and prioritization decisions; and planning scalability and automation, improving planning velocity, consistency, and scalability through workflow automation, integrated planning systems, and operational tooling.

In this role, you will define the business architecture and roadmap for Alphabet's capacity planning ecosystem. Working at the intersection of Planning and Engineering, you will translate planning workflows into scalable systems, automation opportunities, and product requirements that improve planning velocity, consistency, and user experience. You will serve as the planning product owner for capacity planning systems, partnering with Engineering teams to define capabilities spanning demand intake, workflow orchestration, planning lifecycle management, automation, reporting, interoperability, and planning operations.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy and roadmap for Alphabet's capacity planning systems and automation capabilities. Define business requirements for demand lifecycle management, workflow orchestration, approvals, versioning, planning automation, and planning interoperability.
  • Develop the multi-year roadmap for capacity planning systems in partnership with Engineering and Planning organizations. Identify automation opportunities that improve planning quality, reduce manual effort, and accelerate planning execution.
  • Build rapid prototypes, operational tooling, dashboards, workflow enhancements, and planning utilities that improve day-to-day planning operations. Lead user acceptance testing, launch readiness, rollout planning, adoption, operational enablement, and continuous improvement of planning capabilities.
  • Partner with Planning Intelligence, Integrated Planning Execution, and Capacity Planning teams to translate evolving planning needs into scalable business capabilities.
  • Influence the long-term evolution of Alphabet's capacity planning ecosystem by improving usability, interoperability, workflow automation, and operational scalability.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
