Job Overview
In this role, you'll serve as an approachable security partner who fosters open communication, oversees vendor performance, leads incident response, and supports cross-functional security initiatives that enable rather than restrict productivity. Working alongside the broader Security Operations team, you'll balance day-to-day operational execution with input on security planning while helping maintain a robust security posture and AI Safety Level (ASL) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
• Campus Security Operations: Support comprehensive day-to-day security operations, ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of employees, visitors, and assets.
• Security Culture & Trust Building: Serve as an approachable security partner who builds trust with personnel, fostering open communication and integrating security practices into daily operations without creating barriers to productivity.
• Vendor & Personnel Coordination: Coordinate contracted security personnel and vendors, providing oversight, performance feedback, and quality assurance to maintain consistent service delivery standards.
• Emergency Response: Lead and coordinate emergency response activities, ensuring rapid and effective reactions to fires, medical emergencies, and security incidents.
• Community & Law Enforcement Relations: Support relationships with local law enforcement, emergency services, and building management to enhance campus security posture.
• Access Control: Partner with Access Risk Management on access control system administration, including managing permissions and auditing access logs.
• Security Technology: Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to support and optimize security technologies including access control, CCTV, and incident management systems.
• Operational Project Support: Contribute to security aspects of office remediations, process improvements, and ongoing facility initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Facilities, IT, GSOC, BCDR, and Access Risk Management to coordinate security initiatives and incident response.
Required Skills & Experience
• Progressive experience in security operations, campus security, or multi-facility security management.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage day-to-day security operations and oversee vendor performance.
• Strong crisis management and incident command skills, with the ability to lead effectively under pressure.
• Working knowledge of physical security technologies including access control platforms, video management systems, and incident reporting tools.
• Experience building productive relationships with law enforcement, emergency services, and cross-functional partners.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey security concepts clearly to a wide audience, from executives to front-line employees.
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and the ability to work independently as a contractor.
• Availability to support a flexible schedule, which may include after-hours response and on-call coverage as needed.
Nice to Have
• Experience securing high-profile or high-risk environments in technology, research, or R&D sectors.
• Professional security certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional).
• Familiarity with AI Safety Level (ASL) compliance frameworks or similar tiered security standards for research facilities.
• Emergency management background including incident command, business continuity, and crisis coordination.
• Project management experience supporting security aspects of construction or facility development projects.
• Prior background in law enforcement, military, or executive protection with a transition to corporate security.

Compensation
Estimated Pay Range: 120K-165k per year.
Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
