Role OverviewWe are seeking a versatile WLAN/LAN Engineer to join a network team. The role provides expertise across various network technologies to ensure seamless operations and advanced-level network services for WLAN and LAN infrastructure. This position offers support and guidance for network design and installation projects using standard technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and troubleshoot Campus WLAN/LAN networks.
- Configure and manage Cisco Catalyst Center, ISE, and Catalyst 9k switches.
- Configure and manage Aruba Central, Mobility Gateways, Access Points, and ClearPass.
- Collaborate on network upgrades, projects, and migrations.
- Ensure network security, availability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
- Participate in a rotational on-call support for critical network issues.
Required QualificationsEducation: An undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in LAN/WAN engineering is necessary.
Technical Skills:- Strong knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center, ISE, and Catalyst 9k switches.
- Proficiency with HPE Aruba Wireless Mobility Infrastructure and ClearPass.
- Understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Knowledge of switching protocols (STP, VLANs, Trunking).
- Familiarity with network security best practices.
Certifications: A CCNP or CCIE certification in Enterprise Routing and Switching or Wireless is required.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with SD-WAN solutions such as Cisco Viptela or HPE EdgeConnect.
- Knowledge of network automation tools like Ansible or Python.
- Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions (AWS, Azure).
- Cellular DAS experience.
- Knowledge of Ekahau products.
- Understanding of ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
- Certification in HPE Aruba solutions (ACMA, ACMP).
- Experience with network monitoring and analytics tools such as SolarWinds or Splunk.
