What We DoThis position will focus on business-rule-driven calculator solutions used within customer-facing and internal applications, including current and future applications that calculate fees, rates, premiums, estimates, settlement costs, pricing, disclosures, or other transaction-related information.
The Business Analyst supports the accuracy, reliability, maintenance, and continued enhancement of calculator functionality. The role partners with product teams business operations, compliance, technology, quality assurance, and support teams to ensure calculator functionality meets business needs, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
What You'll Do
- Technical and implementation focus is on providing standard applications to resolve business needs/issues. Supports the accuracy, reliability, maintenance, and continued enhancement of business-rule-driven calculator solutions used within customer-facing and internal applications.
- Participates in identifying business system requirements and related business/application solutions for a specific business need. Serves as a primary business analyst contact for business stakeholders regarding assigned calculator solutions.
- Gathers customer requirements for customized system solutions and provides alternative solutions. Gathers, analyzes, documents, and validates business and compliance requirements for calculator maintenance and enhancements.
- Evaluates requests to determine whether they represent a system defect, configuration change, training need, process issue, or product enhancement. Assists product teams with evaluating enhancement requests, determining business value, identifying risks, and establishing priorities.
- Maintains the calculator enhancement backlog, including status, ownership, dependencies, decisions, and next steps. Ensures enhancement requests, defects, and support issues are created, updated, tracked through resolution, and communicated with product teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Supports change-control processes to help ensure updates are properly reviewed, approved, tested, documented, and communicated.
- Partners with compliance and business subject matter experts to ensure calculator requirements align with applicable policies, regulations, and approved business practices, and assists with compliance reviews, audits, control testing, and requests for supporting documentation.
- Coordinates the review and validation of calculation rules, configurations, disclosures, fees, rates, and other calculator-related content, as applicable.
- Writes and maintains system documentation, including functional documentation, business rules, process maps, procedures, reference materials, decision logs, change histories, and documentation showing the source, approval, effective date, and implementation status of assigned calculator requirements and changes.
- Provides training and support directly to customers.
- Provides ongoing functional support for questions and issues related to assigned calculator solutions. Reviews reported issues, gathers examples and supporting details, reproduces problems when possible, and coordinates investigation with the appropriate teams.
- Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.

What You'll Bring
Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure
- BS Degree in business, information systems, finance, real estate, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2–4 years of directly related experience in business analysis, product operations, application support, product management support, compliance support, or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple issues, enhancements, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escalate risks appropriately.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Has basic knowledge of general business environment/operation and has general cost benefit awareness. Develops a strong understanding of business processes, user needs, calculation requirements, and how calculator solutions are used throughout the title and escrow workflow.
- Solid working knowledge of standard features/functions of one or more application to field, analyze and resolve customer issues/problems.
- Good written and oral communication skills in order to define parameters to meet business requirements. Must be able to explain complex information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Identifies/receives problem, researches alternatives, prepares presentations, drives solutions, tests to confirm, gains consensus, and implements solutions for defined business processes. Facilitates discussions to clarify business requirements, expected outcomes, priorities, dependencies, and potential impacts. Translates business needs into clear user stories, functional requirements, business rules, acceptance criteria, and process documentation.
- Creates documentation of business processes, training procedures, and standard operating procedures. Creates and maintains functional documentation, business rules, process maps, procedures, reference materials, decision logs, and change histories.
- Has basic understanding of Data Analysis and/or relational databases.
- Has basic understanding of system integrations and supporting technologies.
- Standard Microsoft Office skill set.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the title, escrow, real estate, mortgage, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.
- Knowledge of title and escrow calculations, fees, rates, disclosures, or settlement processes.
- Experience supporting calculation engines, pricing tools, fee calculators, or rules-based systems.
- Experience working with Agile product-development practices and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with support and work-management tools such as ServiceNow, ServiceFirst, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with compliance controls, audits, or regulatory change-management processes.
Pay Range: $73,900.00 - $98,500.00 AnnuallyThis hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
