Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is a key growth business within TDS that provides the opportunity to make an impact with top-tier organizations. Global Transaction Banking technology team focuses on delivering top-tier technology solutions to enable and grow the global GTB business.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team. This role plays a key part in bridging the gap between business operations and technology by supporting the design and implementation of integrations between internal banking systems and external vendor platforms.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the bank - including Foundational Services Entitlement, Products, Reference Data, Lending, Payments, Trade Finance, and core banking - while working closely with our vendors and engineering teams to define clear, actionable requirements. You will be responsible for building GTB Platform - Reference Data, Entitlements and Product Master. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role ideal for someone who understands both the business impact and technical complexity of system integrations in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business lines to gather, analyze, and document requirements.


  • Write detailed business and functional specifications for internal and external system interfaces.


  • Lead requirements workshops and create artifacts such as data flow diagrams, process models, and message mapping documents.


  • Define and document BDD-style requirements with precise acceptance criteria to guide development and validation.


  • Translate internal business needs into clear deliverables and contractual language for vendors.


  • Partners with vendors, solution designers, and engineers to align design, API behaviors, data formats, and exception handling.


  • Assist in testing efforts through scenario definition, defect triage, and requirements traceability.


  • Provide business context and analysis support during investigation of production issues.


  • Ensure all work aligns with internal ITIL-based change and release management processes.


  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of templates, standards, and integration documentation practices.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with direct involvement in system build and integration projects.


  • Strong understanding of how systems and integrations support banking workflows.


  • Experience working with a mix of integration types: APIs, batch file transfers, and message queues.


  • Familiarity with tools like Postman to test or inspect APIs and review Json/XML payloads.


  • Knowledge of mainframe integration patterns, including batch processing and flat file exchanges.


  • Comfort reading system logs and assisting with root cause analysis in support of Level 3 investigations.


  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.


  • Strong documentation skills, especially with BDD-style requirements and vendor-facing specifications.


  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes and change management practices in enterprise environments.


  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or equivalent.


  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.


Nice To Have

  • Understanding of Reference Data, Product Master and Entitlements is an asset.


  • Experience with Transaction banking is an asset.


  • Understanding MQ Messages, KAFKA topics and events is an asset.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience


  • Master's degree preferred


  • 8+ years of relevant experience
