Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Chief Information Office in Washington, District of Columbia.

This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Duties

Help

As a Business Operations Specialist, at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:

  • Participates in the span of the acquisition life cycle from the initial planning through the description of technical requirements, market research, proposal evaluation, contract monitoring, performance assessment and problem resolution.
  • Assists in the development of requirement analysis, independent government cost estimates and cost benefits analysis.
  • Functions as a consultant working with the program management office to identify program needs.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:

  • Assisting in the development of requirement analysis, independent government cost estimates, and cost benefit analysis.
  • Assisting in the development of recommendations based on study results and providing management with new information and predicative advice concerning alternatives for resolving operational problems.
  • Coordinating with the program management office to identify program needs to include monitoring the cost, schedule, and performance parameters of all assigned contracts.
  • Conducting follow-ups to ensure accomplishment of events are executed in a timely and effective manner for any projected cost savings or efficiencies.
