About the Role:
As a CBRE Business Intelligence Manager, you will lead a small to medium-sized team responsible for data integration, operational reporting, ad-hoc analysis, dashboards, and data mining. You will expand the team's analytical capabilities through applied advanced analytics, AI-assisted insights, and intelligent automation. This role focuses on the "what's next" of BI, using modern tools such as LLMs, AI services, and the Power Platform to reduce manual effort, accelerate insight delivery, and embed intelligence directly into business
workflows.
This is not a pure data engineering role and not a BI strategy role. Instead, it is a hands-on management role that leads the team to prototype, build, and scale AI- and automation-enabled analytics solutions, in close partnership with BI Strategy & Enablement and BI Engineering & Data Foundations.
Supporting Operations Through Scale and Process Improvement:
Reporting into the Operations leader, this role drives measurable efficiency gains by scaling proven solutions and improving how work gets done across the operation. The goal is a rising baseline, where each improvement makes the next one faster to reach.
• Partner with the Operations leader to find manual, repetitive or high-effort processes and target them for automation and simplification.
• Scale proven analytics and automation solutions from a single team or workflow to the broader operation, turning one-off wins into repeatable standards.
• Maintain a prioritized backlog of process improvement opportunities, ranked by time saved, error reduction and operational impact.
• Measure the efficiency gain of each solution, including hours saved, cycle time reduced and manual touches eliminated, and report results to operations leadership.
• Build reusable templates, accelerators and operating routines so each improvement compounds and raises the baseline for the next one.
• Embed intelligence into daily operational workflows so decisions and escalations happen faster and with less manual effort.
• Revisit solved processes as data volumes, tools and business needs grow, raising the efficiency bar with each iteration.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management
• Provide formal supervision to the team, including performance evaluations, coaching and development
• Recruit, hire and onboard team members to build analytics and automation capability
• Plan, assign and coordinate the team's daily activities, priorities and deadlines
• Manage team activities and workload against BI operating cadences and business needs
Advanced Analytics & Insight Generation
• Develop advanced analytical solutions that go beyond standard dashboards (e.g., pattern detection, forecasting, scenario modeling, text analysis)
• Translate complex data into actionable insights using AI-assisted techniques
• Identify opportunities where analytics can proactively surface risks, opportunities, or anomalies rather than relying on manual review
AI & LLM Enablement
• Apply LLM and AI capabilities to BI use cases such as:
• Natural language querying and insight explanation
• Automated commentary and narrative generation
• Text classification, summarization, or sentiment analysis (where appropriate)
• Partner with governance and engineering to ensure AI solutions are responsible, secure, and aligned with organizational standards
• Prototype and iterate on AI-enabled solutions that can later be operationalized or scaled Automation & Power Platform Solutions
• Design and build automation solutions using Power Automate to:
• Reduce manual reporting and data handling
• Trigger workflows based on data conditions or thresholds
• Support BI operating cadences and management system routines
• Develop Power Apps that surface insights, collect inputs, or streamline processes connected to BI and performance management
• Integrate Power Platform solutions with Power BI datasets and governed data sources
BI Solution Development
• Build targeted analytical tools, models, and applications that complement enterprise dashboards
• Create reusable components, templates, and accelerators for analytics and automation use cases
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise KPI definitions and data models provided through governance and engineering
Collaboration Across the BI Team
• Partner with BI Strategy, Enablement & Governance to:
• Identify high-value use cases for advanced analytics and automation
• Align AI-enabled insights to business intent and decision-making needs
• Partner with BI Engineering & Data Foundations to:
• Ensure solutions use trusted, governed data
• Transition successful prototypes into scalable, supported assets
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Stay current on emerging BI, AI, and automation capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or enhance existing BI processes
• Experiment responsibly and share learnings with the broader BI team
