The RoleAs a Senior BDR, you own the top of the funnel for our new business motion. You'll research and break into strategic accounts, run creative multi-channel outbound to engineering and product leaders, and generate the qualified pipeline our Account Executives close. Because our buyers are technical, this isn't spray-and-pray - you'll speak credibly about APIs, model accuracy, and where we beat the alternatives, and you'll earn meetings on substance. This is a senior individual-contributor role. You'll take our hardest, highest-value accounts, operate with real autonomy, and help build the outbound playbook from the ground up as one of the first people in the seat.
What You'll Do- Own outbound pipeline generation into a defined set of strategic accounts
- Break into accounts with sharp, personalized, multi-channel outreach - email, phone, social, and video - grounded in real account research, not templates
- Engage technical decision-makers (CTOs, VPs of Engineering, product leaders) and articulate why AssemblyAI wins on performance and developer experience
- Qualify opportunities and run clean, high-context handoffs to Account Executives
- Represent AssemblyAI at events and in the developer and voice AI communities
- Partner with Marketing and Sales on messaging, sequences, and account targeting - and feed what's working (and what isn't) back into the motion
- Help build the outbound playbook from the ground up, testing new channels and sequences as we scale
What You'll Need- 3+ years in a BDR/SDR role, with a proven track record of generating qualified pipeline from cold outreach
- Comfort learning and speaking to technical concepts: APIs, model accuracy and latency tradeoffs, and competitive differentiation
- Genuine creativity and persistence in outbound - you find a way in when the obvious channels don't work
- Self-direction: you thrive with ownership and little process, and you set your own high bar
- Strong CRM and prospecting-tool fluency (Salesforce, and tools like Apollo, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
- Experience selling technical products - API, infrastructure, developer tools, or AI/ML - to technical buyers is a plus
- While AssemblyAI is a remote-first company, this role is expected to be based in San Francisco, full-time in the office and meeting with prospective customers in person.
