The Space Business Development Manager will own the identification and development of test and measurement requirements across the US and Canada space industry, working directly with customers and account managers to shape solutions, pursue opportunities, and drive business growth. Responsibilities include representing the company at industry tradeshows, delivering internal training, and translating customer needs into actionable business strategies. The role may include team management responsibilities for a candidate with the right experience and leadership capabilities.
Your tasks - Create new business opportunities while expanding the Rohde & Schwarz brand awareness in this market segment.
- Primary objective is to promote the Rohde & Schwarz test equipment portfolio to the Aerospace and Defense market space.
- Effectively demonstrate and communicate how all Rohde & Schwarz products can best solve the customer's measurement problem.
- Work closely with the other members of the business development team; sharing information and developing a complete understanding of space and satellite market and testing.
- Grow R&S market share - develop and manage sales funnel/forecast as part of the sales process.
- Provide input and feedback and implement growth activities in close alignment with the worldwide Market Segment Management, Product Marketing, R&D and Service organizations
- Develop a business plan that outlines how Rohde & Schwarz products can address business trends in this market segment.
- Coordinate a diverse and decentralized team of Account Managers and Application Engineers in an effort to identify and leverage from industry interdependencies and win key opportunities
- Single point of contact for Account Managers, Product Marketing, Marketing, and Product Planning.
Your qualifications - BSEE (or equivalent) - Strong RF and test equipment background preferred.
- Program management experience and demonstrated track record of sales leadership preferred.
- An in-depth understanding of Space and Satellite testing.
- Commensurate sales experience with a solid understanding of current technologies and industry interdependencies within the DoD and Prime contractor space.
- An established and extensive network within the DoD, DoD Primes, and new space organizations preferable.
- The ideal candidates will have a passion for selling in close cooperation with local Account Managers and Application Engineers, an intense focus on customer service, and an overwhelming desire to succeed.
- The ability and willingness to travel up to 50% both nationally and internationally.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer interface skills.

The total compensation for this position is $165K-$250K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
