This Opportunity

WSP USA is seeking an Earth & Environment US Business Development Director focused on sustainability and resilience services, based out New York, NY.

This role will support the development and implementation of growth strategies for private sector clients across service areas including climate risk, ESG, resilience, sustainability strategy, digital transformation, and climate finance. Key activities include engaging with existing and potential clients, collaborating with WSP account leaders, supporting alliances with partners, contributing to WSP's brand in the marketplace, and participating in strategic sales efforts.

This position will help advance WSP's sustainability and resilience initiatives and will work closely with US operational leadership across business lines to support business development strategies, client planning, market development, and sales activities.

The role reports to E&E's US Development Director and will collaborate with stakeholders across the firm to support organic growth within the US business, while contributing to WSP's guiding principles: Clients, Expertise, People & Culture, and Operational Excellence.

Clients
  • Support client engagement strategies, helping client's advance sustainability and resilience goals

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field (Master's or business-related degree preferred)
  • 12+ years of experience in the A/E/C industry, with exposure to sustainability and resilience markets
  • Experience supporting business development efforts, client engagement, and strategic pursuits
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to build pipeline and support opportunity development
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and ability to contribute in a team-oriented environment

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $184,100- $283,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
