Overview / Summary The Business Applications Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of application analysts and specialists, ensuring business applications operate efficiently and effectively to support organizational goals. This role focuses on application management, process improvement, and collaboration with business units to enhance business systems.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in implementation, configuration, and support of business applications
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving application issues
- Prior experience managing or supervising application teams (preferred)
- Prior experience in financial services industry and with DevOps tools/practices (highly preferred)
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and/or project management (PMP, Agile) (highly preferred)
- Strong understanding of enterprise business applications, ERP systems, or CRM platforms
- Familiarity with application integration, data management, and workflow automation
- Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as SOX and PCI-DSS
Key Responsibilities - Supervise day-to-day operations of the Business Applications team to ensure efficient and reliable performance
- Oversee configuration, implementation, and support of business applications aligned with organizational objectives
- Manage incident response and troubleshooting, coordinating with internal teams and vendors
- Ensure proper documentation of business processes, system configurations, and application changes
- Partner with IT leadership to develop and execute application strategies
- Manage third-party vendor relationships and contracts
- Drive improvements in application performance, security, and compliance
- Provide mentorship and guidance to application analysts
- Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend improvements
Application Development & Support - Supervise development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications supporting financial operations (Accounting, Risk Management, Treasury)
- Ensure optimal application performance and timely resolution of issues and enhancements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Coordinate application upgrades, migrations, and system integrations with minimal disruption
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration - Act as liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors
- Facilitate communication on project timelines, deliverables, and expectations
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure integration with enterprise systems
Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Support initiatives to improve application performance, functionality, and reliability
- Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance team effectiveness
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
On-Premises, Hybrid, and Cloud Environments - Supervise applications across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments
- Work with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure stability, security, and performance
- Support application transitions to cloud or hybrid architectures
- Ensure governance and performance monitoring across environments
Risk & Compliance - Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards (SOX, PCI-DSS)
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address risks and vulnerabilities
- Support audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning
