Business Analyst for a on-site opportunity for candidates in Spartanburg, SC. Candidate will lead discovery and business analysis activities for a large-scale IT documentation recovery initiative, working with technical teams and organizational stakeholders to capture critical knowledge and operational processes. The role will identify documentation gaps, map current-state workflows and technology dependencies, and create structured analysis that strengthens cybersecurity, continuity, knowledge transfer, and long-term documentation governance.

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 10+ years of demonstrated business analysis experience within complex IT or technology environments.
- Strong requirements elicitation, interviewing, facilitation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Visio for process mapping, workflow documentation, and technical/business diagrams.
- Experience collaborating with technical subject-matter experts across infrastructure, applications, service delivery, cybersecurity, or related IT disciplines.
- Ability to analyze current-state processes, workflows, dependencies, roles, handoffs, risks, and operational gaps.
- Experience gathering, organizing, validating, and prioritizing requirements for SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles, system documentation, or recovery materials.
- Strong documentation, communication, organization, and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical knowledge into clear and structured information.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Business Analyst:- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, ITIL Foundation, or comparable professional certification.
- Experience supporting documentation recovery, IT operational maturity, knowledge-management, or process-standardization initiatives.
- Experience documenting cybersecurity, infrastructure, disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT service-management processes.
- Experience with SharePoint-based documentation repositories, governance, and content organization.
- Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, CIS, or other recognized IT/security frameworks.
- Experience working in government or another highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities of the Business Analyst:- Lead interviews, discovery sessions, and workshops with IT personnel, subject-matter experts, and organizational stakeholders to capture operational knowledge and requirements.
- Conduct an inventory and assessment of existing technical, operational, security, application, infrastructure, system, and recovery documentation.
- Analyze and document current-state processes, workflows, data/process flows, roles, dependencies, handoffs, pain points, and areas requiring improvement or standardization.
- Develop process maps, diagrams, inventories, matrices, and other analytical deliverables using Microsoft Visio and Microsoft 365.
- Identify documentation gaps, knowledge dependencies, process risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities to strengthen operational resilience.
- Organize and prioritize documentation needs, maintain project tracking and dependencies, and collaborate with technical writers and IT leadership to validate and establish sustainable documentation standards and governance.
