Position SummaryThis role in the Informatics team within Aetna's Medicaid Business Unit (MBU) delivers analytics, reporting, and insights that support the growing P4P Quality Incentive Portfolio and related strategic initiatives. In this individual contributor role, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate evolving business questions into governed datasets, repeatable analytic methods, and clear, actionable insights across 10+ Medicaid markets. You will execute complex data queries, integrate and validate healthcare data from multiple sources, and assess health and economic outcomes to inform decisions.
What success looks like- Publish trusted KPI dashboards and recurring reports used by Quality, Finance, and Market & Organizational leadership for performance management and incentive forecasting
- Produce reproducible, well-documented analyses (logic, assumptions, methodology) that stand up to stakeholder review and audit needs
- Turn ambiguous questions into clear requirements, appropriate analytic approaches, and actionable recommendations
- Deliver high-quality work in fast-moving environments.
This role supports a portfolio of enterprise and market-facing analytics products that drive performance management, incentive forecasting, and strategic decision support across Medicaid markets. Examples include:
- P4P & Quality Incentive Dashboard: Dashboards for quality incentive tracking, P4P projections, and enterprise-wide performance visibility
- Medicaid Optimizer Dashboard: Market-level modeling and reporting (e.g., dollar-per-compliant-member estimates) to support prioritization and investment decisions
- Off-Cycle CAHPS Survey Dashboard: a centralized view of member experience insights collected between annual CAHPS fielding periods, enabling health plans to proactively monitor performance and respond faster to emerging issues.
- Engagement & Campaign Performance Dashboard: Performance tracking to support cross-functional outreach initiatives
- Ad hoc Strategic Analysis: Rapid-turn analysis for P4P scenarios, ROI projections, and executive decision support
Job Responsibilities- Data Engineering & Analysis: Write robust, efficient code in SQL/GCP to extract, manipulate, and analyze large healthcare datasets across diverse data pipelines
- Dashboard Development & Data Visualization: Design, deploy, and maintain data visualizations and dashboards to calculate vital KPIs (P4P dollar projections, quality incentive tracking, ROI analysis) and recommend actionable insights for leaders
- Strategic Partnership: Work closely with executive leadership and health plan leaders to provide project updates, flag barriers, build advanced trend and ad hoc reports, and deliver robust insights
- Stakeholder Consultation: Develop and participate in presentations and consultations with health plan leaders on data capabilities, methodologies, and performance results
- Documentation & Governance: Document data logic and plan methodology used in analyses; ensure reproducibility and transparency of results
- Business Acumen: Understand Medicaid business operations and state plan methodologies to enable smooth partnership with business leaders across 10+ markets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Healthcare Quality, IT, BIS, Medical Affairs, and Market & Organizational leadership on data integration and quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of data analytics experience (healthcare/Medicaid preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with healthcare data (e.g., enrollment, claims, HEDIS) in a data warehouse environment; GCP/BigQuery preferred
- 3+ years using advanced SQL to query and manipulate large datasets in a relational database environment, including integrating multiple data sources
- 3+ years creating dashboards and data visualizations that drive decisions (Tableau preferred)
- 3+ years creating reports and pivot tables in Excel
- Healthcare quality measure familiarity (e.g., HEDIS, CAHPS, P4P/quality incentive programs) preferred
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences (written and verbal)
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; adept at probing into granular details of big data and complex technical processes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across teams; organized, attentive to detail, able to manage conflicting priorities, work independently under general direction, and meet commitments

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$54,300.00 - $159,120.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
