Overview

As aBusiness Analyst you will lead the collection, capture, and management of mission user needs from prioritization, concept development, and feature writing to support development and deployment within an AI-enabled software development environment. Provide expertise in business process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation efforts and in translating business process needs into technical requirements. Provide expertise in change management and training support. Provide organizational and strategic planning for a wide variety of technical and functional environments. Provide expertise in, but not limited to, Configuration Management, Strategic Planning, Knowledge Management, Business Analysis and Technical Analysis.

  • Envision, develop, and create requirements to improve tools to streamline processes to gain efficiencies and improve key metrics.
  • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Apply different techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, create a shared understanding with stakeholders, and engage team-members to produce product and portfolio roadmaps.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and product teams to decompose large epics into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team.
  • Facilitate Increment and planning sessions with clients and team members to ensure that planned work is well defined, planned, articulated, and understood.
  • Assist business analysts, team leads, clients, and cross-functional teams in effectively utilizing issue tracking systems to manage and monitor work across multiple product teams within an Agile program environment.

  • Coaches the teams in their understanding of the delivery process, the agile mindset, and client values.
  • Provide guidance and support in the use of ticket tracking or Agile lifecycle management tools for reporting work progress against epics and other large-scale or complex work items.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders and product teams to decompose large epics into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team.
  • Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
  • Oversee scrum team for key high-priority project for the client.
  • Document Acceptance Criteria in stories in a way that both development team and business stakeholders can understand and agree on the content.
  • Use excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience functioning as a Business Analyst
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
  • Experience using Agile methodologies
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing to inform and shape digital experiences.
  • Ability to translate user needs into implementable, user-centered design solutions.

  • Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams to communicate user and stakeholder needs in an Agile environment.

  • Strong understanding of technical specifications, platform constraints, and operational environments, with the ability to design effectively within them.

  • Demonstrated ability to design intuitive, accessible, and elegant user interfaces using a test-and-learn approach.

  • Local to the Washington, DC metro area.
