Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists in the development and review of budget instructions, guidance, and schedules.
- Supports improvements to Department-wide budget processes through standardized procedures and tools.
- Participates in preparing budget estimates, narrative justifications, and exhibits.
- Analyzes budget execution data to track obligations, expenditures, and trends.
- Assists with funds allocation and apportionment processes.
- Contributes to analytical materials supporting leadership decision-making.
- Provides analytical support for materials prepared for OMB, Congress, and leadership.
- Assists in reviewing testimony, hearing questions, and briefing papers.
- Communicates with bureau budget offices to gather necessary data.
- Provides guidance to program staff on budget procedures and reporting requirements.
- Conducts analyses of program requests, budget execution patterns, and resource requirements.
- Reviews program performance and financial practices for alignment with budget guidance.
- Evaluates resource utilization and identifies potential efficiencies.
- Assists in preparing analytical summaries and management briefings.
The position is suitable for telework and the incumbent may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.

GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
- Supported budget formulation by preparing OMB A-11-compliant schedules, exhibits, and narratives and ensured cross-year consistency of estimates.
- Monitored and executed budgets by tracking commitments, obligations, and outlays and produced monthly execution reports and variance analyses.
- Identified surpluses or shortfalls and recommended within-account adjustments in accordance with laws, policies, and internal controls.
- Developed briefing materials and responses to data calls and maintained audit-ready documentation and standard operating procedures.

Experience: To qualify, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the
GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
- Led budget formulation for a portfolio of programs by developing multi-year estimates and integrating performance measures.
- Served as a technical authority on apportionment, allotment, and execution and designed strategies to optimize execution during continuing resolutions.
- Built analytical models or dashboards to forecast execution trends and briefed senior leadership.
- Mentored junior analysts and established SOPs or quality controls to improve data integrity and budget-process compliance.
