Core Duties and Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on television broadcast equipment, computers, networks, and facility systems.
• Maintain studios, control rooms, technical spaces, equipment rooms, and general facility infrastructure.
• Support cameras, audio/video systems, routers, servers, RF systems, control systems, and broadcast networks.
• Perform general facility repairs, installations, equipment moves, cabling, mounting, and modifications.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and building-related issues.
• Identify problems and develop practical solutions, utilizing outside contractors when specialized expertise is required.
• Assist with construction projects, facility upgrades, equipment installations, and system expansions.
• Respond quickly to technical or facility issues that could impact broadcast operations.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, building management, vendors, and contractors.
• Document equipment issues, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system anomalies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe technical and facility environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• Technical degree, trade certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5+ years of broadcast engineering, technical facilities, or equivalent hands-on experience required.
• Working knowledge of television broadcast equipment and production systems.
• Understanding of broadcast audio, video, control systems, networking, RF, and IT infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems and determine practical solutions.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and other equipment necessary to perform repairs and installations.
• Strong general mechanical aptitude and a natural "figure it out and fix it" approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure, 24/7 news environment.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, producers, operations personnel, vendors, contractors, and building management.
• Solutions-based, team player with strong communication skills.
• Must be willing to perform both broadcast engineering and general facility maintenance duties.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
COMPENSATION RANGE $115K - 130K annually
